OCB 3043, Marine Biology and Oceanography (and associated lab)

This course provides

  • An introduction to marine biology and biological oceanography

  • Covers the basics of physical and biological oceanography and the biology/ecology of the major marine organisms and ecosystems

  • Considers the threats to the marine environment, and the basics of marine conservation

  • Addresses questions of how we conduct marine research, and how to interpret research results and papers

OCB 3264, ​Coral Reef Biology

This course provides

  • An introduction to the taxonomy, biology and ecology of the main groups on coral reefs inhabitants

  • Covers the biology and ecological relationships of reef plants and animals

  • Considers threats to reef health and conservation measures

  • Addresses questions of how we conduct marine research, and how to interpret research results and papers
